The code addresses profit and certain gambling as a substantial income source or livelihood; comparison with another income source does not replace that wording.
Before hosting or joining, confirm:
- Could the host be operating a game for profit, and do income or livelihood provisions affect a participant?
- Do the rules cover this private residence, club, business or public event?
- How do rake, seat fees, required purchases, donations or other organizer benefits affect the game?
- What limits or conditions apply to wagers, player winnings, entry fees and prizes?
- What age and other participation requirements apply?
