1. Who we are
PokerDIY is a hobby website run by an individual. “We” and “us” mean that individual in their role as site operator. This policy covers personal information handled through the new PokerDIY app and the records migrated from its former WordPress site.
You can browse public pages without an account. An account is needed for member features. Our Terms of Service explain the rules for using the site.
2. Information we collect
- Account information: email address, display name, sign-in and verification records, account settings and, where provided by a connected sign-in service, a profile image and account identifier.
- Listings and contributions: game details, schedules, city and location, full address and contact information you enter, photos, comments, ratings, forum contributions, questions and reports.
- Member activity: messages and their participants, read status, profile fields, saved listings, notifications and personal activity records.
- Historical records: earlier account and community information, newsletter preferences, contact submissions, orders, billing and shipping details, transaction references and listing-package entitlements, where present in the migration.
- Technical information: IP addresses, browser/device information, session identifiers, security checks, request and error information, and search or location queries needed to operate the site.
We receive information from you, other members when they message or mention you, sign-in and infrastructure providers, and the former site’s records. Optional sign-in services may supply identifiers and authentication tokens needed to connect your account.
Please do not send identity documents, payment-card details or sensitive information that is unnecessary for using PokerDIY. The current app has no new-payment checkout.
3. How we use information
We use information to provide accounts and sign-in, publish and manage listings, support search and maps, deliver member messages, maintain historical records, handle reports and enquiries, prevent abuse, troubleshoot problems and meet applicable legal obligations.
Operational emails can include sign-in codes and notifications about new comments on games you host or discuss. They are separate from marketing. Existing newsletter preferences can be viewed and unsubscribed from in your account. Migrating a subscription record is not a new marketing opt-in, and the current app does not send newsletter campaigns.
We do not sell your personal information or use private member messages to target advertising.
4. What other people can see
Public: published listing text and photos, city-level location and approximate map pins, public articles and forum/question content, approved comments and the associated display names. Statuses posted to a public player profile are public, including their status history. You can hide or archive individual statuses to keep them privately in your account history; making your player profile private hides its statuses and history. The community activity feed also shows eligible historical records explicitly marked public, subject to their visibility and content-access checks. Search engines and other people may copy or cache this material.
Saved listing contact fields: the saved full address and phone number are shown only to the listing owner on the game page. Website and social links on Verified listings are available to signed-in members. Only Verified listings can receive private messages, where hosts can share meeting addresses and personal contact details with selected players. On standard listings, the private-contact button takes players to public comments; keep personal details out of them. Information you put in a public description or photo is public even if the same information also has a restricted field.
Restricted account records: private messages are accessible through member pages to their participants. New account updates are private. Account activity management, saved listings and historical orders have account access controls; some historical activity is also shown in the public community feed as described above. Authorised administrators may access records needed to operate the service, investigate issues or respond to a request. Private messages are not end-to-end encrypted.
Other members may keep messages or details you share with them. You should not assume that a recipient will keep them confidential. Avoid posting another person’s information without permission.
5. Records from the former site
The new app preserves historical WordPress accounts, listings, articles, discussions and supported community and purchase records so members can continue accessing their content and history. Information can be old, incomplete or linked to an account that has not signed in recently.
Old WordPress passwords are not used for signing in to the new app. Sign-in uses email codes or a connected provider where available. Importing a record does not authorise a new charge, renew a subscription or give fresh marketing consent.
Original migration archives and backups may retain information that is not available through the new app, including historical account and plugin metadata. These copies are separate from public site content. Correction and deletion can affect live records and retained copies differently; removal from a page alone is not complete erasure.
6. Service providers and overseas processing
Services used by the app can receive information needed to perform their role:
- Cloudflare: website hosting, database and image storage, network security and Turnstile anti-bot checks. Turnstile processes technical browser and network signals.
- Resend: the selected operational email provider receives recipients, sender details and email content, including sign-in codes and game comment notification messages. A Cloudflare email service can be used if the operator changes the configured transport.
- Google or Facebook: if you choose an enabled sign-in option, the provider handles authentication and shares the information needed to connect your account. Their use of information is covered by their own policies.
- Maps and location services: map tiles may load from OpenFreeMap or the configured map provider. Uncached address and place searches are sent to the configured geocoder, currently Nominatim or optionally Mapbox. The provider may receive the searched address or place; browser-loaded map services also receive normal network request information.
- External images and links: some older content loads images from other hosts. Opening external content can disclose your IP address and browser information to that service.
These services use international infrastructure, so information may be processed or stored outside Australia. Locations depend on the service and its configuration; Australia-only storage is not promised. We may also disclose information where required by law, to address a serious safety or security concern, or with your permission.
Provider information: Cloudflare privacy, Turnstile privacy, Resend privacy, OpenFreeMap privacy, Google privacy, Meta privacy, OpenStreetMap Foundation privacy and Mapbox privacy.
Website analytics
We use Google Analytics through Google Tag Manager to measure visits to eligible public pages. Analytics loads automatically on those pages. Google receives information about page visits and your browser or device, and can process it overseas. Analytics cookies can distinguish visits. Advertising storage and personalization are disabled by the site's tag settings.
Analytics does not load on account or administration pages, for signed-in visits, or on pages with search or other query parameters. Review Google’s privacy policy and Google’s Analytics opt-out information.
8. Storage, security and retention
App records are stored in the site’s database and media storage. Sign-in checks, access controls, restricted administrator access and security checks help protect them. No internet service can promise perfect security. Use a secure email account and protect your sign-in codes.
Records may be retained while your account or content is in use, to maintain conversation and purchase history, resolve disputes, investigate abuse, meet legal obligations or support backup and migration recovery. Historical records do not currently have a single automatic deletion deadline. Retention and removal therefore need to be assessed for the particular record.
The complete original WordPress archive is retained offline for restricted migration and recovery review; it is not exposed through the public app. Backups, migration archives, provider logs and copies held by other members or search engines can have different retention arrangements. Removing information from the app does not promise immediate deletion from every copy.
9. Access, correction and deletion
You can edit your display name and your own listings, manage connected sign-in methods, and unsubscribe from existing newsletters through My account. Removing a message from your inbox hides your copy; it does not erase the recipient’s copy or the underlying message record. Removing personal activity may also hide a record rather than physically erase it.
You can close your account through My account → Account settings → Account deletion. Sign in with a verified email address, review the explanation, type DELETE and select Delete my account. This is a soft deletion: your account is marked deleted, all sessions are revoked, future sign-in with that account is blocked, your public player profile and owned game listings are hidden, and your newsletter subscriptions are stopped.
Soft deletion retains your stored account information, contributions, messages, business records and uploaded files. Existing contributions and other participants’ message copies can remain visible with their original text and author names. Previously public media may remain accessible. These records and copies in backups and migration archives are not erased. Downloadable data export is not a self-service feature yet.
Account-deletion information updated 12 October 2026.
- Contact the operator using the enquiry email below. Use the account’s email address where possible, identify the affected account or page, and explain what information you want to access or correct.
- We may need to verify that the information belongs to you before releasing or changing it. Do not send identity documents unless we have agreed a necessary, secure way to verify you.
- Access and correction enquiries are reviewed by the operator. We will explain the action taken and any relevant legal rights or review options. We may need to protect another person’s information or a record required for a legal obligation.
Disconnecting Google or Facebook does not by itself delete your PokerDIY account or historical information. Use account deletion if you want to close your account. Applicable privacy rights and the privacy enquiry and complaint process below are unaffected.

10. Children
Member features are intended for people aged 18 or over. We do not ask children to register or submit information. If you believe a child has supplied personal information, contact the operator so we can review it and take appropriate action. The app does not currently verify every member’s age.
11. Enquiries and complaints
Contact the operator with a privacy question or complaint, including enough detail for us to understand the issue. We will review it and respond through the contact details you provide. As an individually run site, we do not currently promise a fixed response deadline.
This policy does not limit rights that apply under Australian or other applicable law. The Office of the Australian Information Commissioner provides information about Australian privacy complaints and whether it can consider a particular matter.

12. Policy changes
We will update this policy when the service or its information handling changes and show the updated date. Material changes will be highlighted on the site or through an account communication where appropriate. A policy update alone does not give consent to a new marketing use.
