I been working on a article reviewing some of the major online poker sites from my point of view. If you're looking to play online it should posted soon. In this day and age of hyper aggressive play, there is definately an advantage to cautious play. I would recomend trying on occasion to play outside your comfort zone to work on playing the part of the super aggessor and finding the best games which fit your particular style of play. Maybe limit cash games and full table non-turbo tournaments might be your niche? Thanks for the feedback, GL, Donkeyherder

I am not in your league. Actually - I am just starting out in the world of poker. But i love reading your story. I spent so long thinking the only poker sites were 'advertisements' in disquies. I thought I had 'skills' but after reading your second last paragraph, (pretend you are weak) I think that my natural, non aggressive, tendancy is what gives me an advantage. Something I'll have to tell my hubby, as he tells me to suck it up and be tough

I have shifted the majority of my focus to a new game which happens to be on a smaller poker site and I have been very successful short term and don't want all the sharks to raid the game while it's good. Donkeyherder

I hate when that happens after typing a long post and then you lose it. Poker can be pretty tough at times when it sends you on a losing streak. You make a good point of not playing in higher stakes to try and make up your losses. Finding what works and sticking to it is a better way to go about it at the poker tables. Not even a hint as to what you are keeping under wraps?

Update: They responded and closed my account. No apologies, explanations or anything other than "Your account has been closed". Oh well, I'll take my money to another poker room with a less dodgy attitude.

Yes, this thing is, as a developer, an Inactive Account is literally a check or flag - there's no massive switch that needs to be pushed by a team of monkeys, it is purely a device of forcing people to play poker on their site. It also looks like it is recurring, so I'd get charged $4 every month. I am not reactivating my account as I don't want to play just yet, and I'll be damn if I am paying them $4 a month for choosing them as my online poker room!

This is absolutely crazy! Especially for a poker site that used to be #1. Why they want to do something like this to alienate poker players is beyond me. I don't blame you for wanting to end it with them. I can understand them wanting to remove inactive accounts, but after 180 days they should just give you a little reminder that you haven't played there in awhile. It's not like you take up too much space on their computer. I think poker rooms should have the same rules as banks. I think it's 10 years of inactivity at banks if I'm correct, although that may be different depending on which country you're from.

Player131105 commented on Excalibur to replace Live Poker Dealers with Electronic Poker Tables

There was a dealer that played on the machines at the excalibur. Here's an article about it... A Las Vegas poker dealer, who for obvious reasons did not want to give his name, had conflicting reactions while trying out the new electronic poker tables at the Excalibur. As a dealer, he hated the 10-player tables which are fully automated and do not require cards, chips or a dealer. In other words, one less casino job. As a poker player participating in a low-limit cash game, though, he found the tables easy to maneuver and faster than live games. "I played on these tables before on a cruise ship," the dealer commented. "They are very advantageous for the player. There are never any misdeals. I think we'll see a lot more of these games." It is so hard to read, and actually quite annoying, when there isn't any paragraph breaks. The enter key is you best friend and will make your readers happy. When everything is bunched together it just doesn't really make me want to read it and it actually might be something worth reading ;-)

Pocket aces do look good when you get them, but they can and do lose. Just like you can win with 2 7 or 2 T like Doyle Brunson won with twice. In the WSOP main event AA was beat twice in the final hand. Of course I'll take AA as a starting hand any day and take my chances of possibly losing with them.

My husband and I always stayed at the Excalibur to play live poker. We are coming again in November but will have to look at booking a different hotel because we always stay where we play.
