To assess a home poker game in Wyoming, start with Wyoming Statutes, Title 6. Review sections 6-7-101 and 6-7-102. Section 6-7-101 has a social-relationship exclusion with participant, privacy, advertising and remuneration conditions. Read the whole exclusion and professional-gambling definition.
Before hosting or joining, confirm:
- Is there an established social relationship independent of gambling, and do all privacy, advertising and remuneration conditions hold?
- Do the rules cover this private residence, club, business or public event?
- How do rake, seat fees, required purchases, donations or other organizer benefits affect the game?
- What limits or conditions apply to wagers, player winnings, entry fees and prizes?
- What age and other participation requirements apply?
Use the official source to identify the applicable conditions and effective amendments. A private venue or game without rake is only part of the assessment.
