Whoever said “sticks and stones will break my bones but words will never hurt me” never saw Twitter coming. In just a few words, tweets can wreak havoc or create a bit of healthy competition as it’s done with two poker pros. Gus “The Great Dane” Hansen tweeted regarding Daniel “Kid Poker’” Negreanu’s losing hand on the High Stakes Poker show that caused him to lose more than $300,000 to the Danish pro.
Hansen tweeted: Hey @RealKidPoker remember this hand https://pokerdiy.com>
The tweet has ignited a high-stakes poker challenge that will take place this month at the European Poker Tour in London.
In response, Negreanu tweeted:.@GusHansen I was going to congratulate you on your graph for 2013 but then realized I was looking at it upside down. Ouch!
In his video blog, Negreanu challenged Hansen and two other Full Tilt Poker-sponsored pros, Viktor “Isildur1” Blom and Tom “durrrr” Dwan.
Negreanu’s team members will be online pro Isaac Haxton and Team PokerStars Pro Bertrand “Elky” Grospellier.
The buy-in will be set at $50,000 with the overall challenge determined by heads-up matches. Negreanu is willing to allow Hansen choose the matchups. The team winning at least two matches will reign victorious.
Who will come out on top?
